What happened: Tencent released Hy3 preview on April 23 a 295B-parameter Mixture-of-Experts model that activates only 21B parameters per token and immediately open-sourced it on Hugging Face, GitHub, and ModelScope. On SWE-bench Verified, it scored 74.4%, up from Hy2’s 53.0%, a 40% single-generation jump that puts it within striking distance of Claude Opus 4.6 (80.8%) and above GLM-5 (77.8%) and Kimi-K2.5 (76.8%).
Why it matters: Tencent built the entire model from infrastructure rebuild to public release in under 90 days, while cutting inference costs 40% and pricing API access at RMB 1.2 per million input tokens (~$0.18).…
